Community Partners
Our interest in community partnerships reflects our mission as a department and our role within UMaine as a land and sea grant institution. Our departmental and institutional mission guides us to connect our research, teaching, and service to support Maine communities in diverse ways. We have vibrant and longstanding partnerships with numerous organizations and state agencies (listed below). Undergraduate and graduate students have many opportunities to connect with, contribute to, and help sustain these partnerships through engaged projects and research.

- The Maine Association of Broadcasters [MAB]
- The Maine Association of Broadcasters represents the radio and television stations across Maine. It partners with the Department of Communication and Journalism on the MAB Scholarship Program.

- The Maine Press Association [MPA]
- The Maine Press Association represents various newspaper and digital publishing organizations throughout the State of Maine.
